Securing the future of Scotland's Land based Sector in the South of Scotland - an award winning partnership approach by Dumfries and Galloway Council, SRUC Barony, Borders College, Tarff Valley Services, National Farmers Union, Lantra, Confor, SDS, DYW and South of Scotland Enterprise   

An opportunty for young people to develop relevant skills and knowledge of both the foresrty and agriculture sectors while still at school as the start of a pathway to a range of oppportunties post school: Employment including Pre Apprenticeship and Apprenticeships as well as further study. 

Land based award:

Undertake an SQA accredited work placement one day a week developing transferrable workplace skills while in senior phase at school.

Additional knowlede and understanding units in agriculture and forestry delivered in partnership with a local college.

Provides a sound preparation for apprenticeships, employment or further study in this economically important sector.
