 Responsible To: Senior Homecarer and Care Co-ordinator

Job Purpose:

  • To help plan service users care plans and implement the provision of good quality care.

  • To assist staff members to support service users to live as independently as possible in their own home, regardless of age or disability and to achieve their optimum level of mental and physical function. The emphasis should be on what can be done rather than what cannot be done.

  • To ensure service users retain as much of their dignity and individuality as possible as well as being involved in the general activities of the service.

     

Duties:

  • Ensure all elements of the care plan are met and that the needs of the service user are clearly understood.

  • Provide appropriate stimulation and encouragement to help the service user live independently in their own home.

  • Conduct of a homecarer must be caring and professional at all times.

  • Undertake training and learning as such needs are identified. Maintain and improve learning and competence in the role of homecarer. To continue with professional development.

  • Support training and shadowing of junior and new members of staff.

  • Attend all staff meetings where possible.

  • Report any concerns to your senior homecarer or care co-ordinator regarding the well being or level of service provided to enable the situation to be reassessed and to make recommendations about the abilities of service users and make any changes.

  • Promote a professional profile of the service within the local community.

  • To adhere to all Rainbow Services (UK) Ltd policies and procedures.

  • Promote and ensure the good reputation of Rainbow Services (UK) Ltd.

  • To accept that change will be necessary from time to time to meet the changing needs of service users.
