Area Committee Anti-Poverty Grants 2019/2020

Dumfries and Galloway Council has allocated the sum of £200,000 in 2019/2020 to Area Committees within our region to distribute to community and voluntary organisations to specifically tackle poverty within their local area.  All applications to this fund must demonstrate that the proposed projects and services directly contribute to our Anti-Poverty Strategy 2015-2020 Vision and Objectives, which are highlighted below:

Anti-Poverty Strategy Vision

"People will be prevented from falling into poverty, supported to escape from poverty and able to lead independent, safe, happy and fulfilled lives".

Anti-Poverty Strategy Objectives

To achieve this Vision, four Objectives were identified as follows:

Objective 1: To listen to people and families experiencing poverty and make sure their voice is heard
Objective 2: To support people experiencing poverty to move from dependence to independence
Objective 3: To ensure our information and services are easy to access
Objective 4: To provide services that meet the needs of people experiencing poverty

Applications for this funding stream are now open and will close at midnight on Wednesday 24 July 2019.  Applications received after this deadline will not be accepted.

Each of the four areas has its own Criteria for their fund.  Please note that some of the Area Committees have upper limits on the amount that you can apply for.  Please check your local Area Committee Anti-Poverty Funding Criteria carefully before completing your application.
