The Hub Projects and Services

Rent Deposit Guarantee Scheme assists people on low incomes who are in housing need access private sector tenancies across Dumfries and Galloway.

Winter Warmth for Older People provides a free logs and kindling service for older people in Dumfries and Galloway who use open fires and who experience fuel poverty.

Getting Connected assists people who don’t have computers and access to the internet apply online for benefits and jobs, create CV’s, carry out job searches as well as providing learning sessions on using computers.

Community Defibrillator Project provides defibrillators and training for local communities in rural areas.

SPRING Social Prescribing Project assists people through facilitating access to local support networks to improve their health and wellbeing.


Other organisations based at the hub

  • Solway Credit Union is owned and managed by its members to promote regular saving and provide loans at reasonable rates.
  • Community Action through Participation and Engagement Network is a group of trained practitioners that carry out community engagement and participation activities with local communities.
  • Dumfries and Galloway over 50’s Group raises awareness of older peoples issues to influence how services are delivered for older people.
  • StartScotland assists people overcome any challenges they may have which may be stopping them finding a job.
  • CEIS (Community Enterprise in Scotland) provides employability and skills training.
  • Scottish War Blinded supports ex-service men and women, no matter if they lost their sight during or after service.
  • Social Security Scotland delivers the new welfare benefits introduced by the Scottish Government.
