How many people’s lives have you changed today?

Appointment  of members for the Board of Management of Dumfries and Galloway college

Dumfries and Galloway College offers a wide range of qualifications and courses at further and higher education levels across a diverse curriculum.  The Board of Management of the College is looking for people with a strong commitment to changing lives and an understanding of the value of education and training.

Since 2011 the Scottish Government has embarked on an ambitious programme of reform of the college sector. This has resulted in a new regional approach with colleges better placed to meet the needs of learners and employers it serves. This is an opportunity to make an important contribution to the strategic direction and governance of the College. You will be part of a Regional College Board during a period of considerable change within the college sector.

Board members would be required to attend meetings of the Board and some of its Standing Committees (around ten meetings per year, in the daytime).  Board Members are not remunerated but reasonable out-of-pocket expenses arising from attendance on Board business are reimbursed.

On commencement induction and training will be available.

If you would like to informally discuss the role then please contact Brian Johnstone, Chair of the Board of Management, by phone on 07850 706881.

Closing Date: Midnight on Thursday 1st December 2016.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 10th January 2017 in Dumfries.
