#ROOTS

#ROOTS will take place on Saturday 10 March 2018, between 11am – 7pm at Lockerbie Academy. As part of Dumfries & Galloway’s Year of Young People, #ROOTS is a one day Youth Conference open to young people aged 12- 25 from across D&G. It is entirely FREE for young people to participate in this event and the programme includes inspirational guest speakers including:

  • Bruce Adamson, Children and Young People’s Commissioner for Scotland

  • Amal Azzudin, Glasgow Girls Activist

  • Amy-Lee Fraioli, Chair of the Scottish Youth Parliament

The conference will include a number of quality workshops being delivered by a range of partners (including Who Cares? Scotland, Youth Scotland, YOMO and SYP) surrounding Rights, Decision Making, Activism, Leadership & Participation. The purpose of the event is for young people to share their experiences, develop their skills and become involved creating positive change in their local communities.

This signature event is aimed at young people with either an interest or experience in activism, democracy and leadership and there will be something for everybody. We are especially keen for a diverse range of delegates to attend this conference, especially our regions care experienced young people.

Sign up is easy and the electronic form can either be completed by searching #ROOTS on www.ticketsource.co.uk or just clicking here: https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/date/453026 - Please note registration will close on March 1st.
