Dumfries and Galloway Assessor and Electoral Registration Officer is looking to recruit a Trainee Valuer.

The successful candidate will have attained and accredited degree, or appropriate academic qualifications must satisfy the entry requirements to obtain an accredited degree, for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Assessment of Professional Competence.

The successful Candidate must be able to organise and prioritise their own work and meet changing demands.  They must be able to demonstrate good time management, have good verbal and written communication skills.  The successful Candidate must have the ability to work as part of a busy team. They must also be reliable and be able to work well under pressure and be highly motivated, flexible and enthusiastic.

Dependant on experience, the successful candidate will be responsible for the survey and valuation of a wide range of property for rating purposes, the survey and valuation of domestic property for Council Tax, the negotiation of appeals with ratepayers and professional agents and the presentation of evidence before the Valuation Appeal Committee.

Salary placing is dependent on experience and qualifications.
